Claire & Lucia
Claire Bedford
Claire Bedford has served with BMS since 2013. She works in the BMS-supported hospital Guinebor II, in Chad. Claire heads up the pharmacy service at Guinebor II and supports many other aspects of the hospital, too.
Claire is originally from North Devon and trained in Pharmacy at the University of Bath and Torbay Hospital. Claire has worked as a hospital pharmacist and as a prescribing advisor for GP practices.

Lucia Bastos
Lucia, a Brazilian, has been devoted to mission work for 15 years and has spent most of that time in African countries including South Africa and Egypt. In September 2022, she joined the BMS team as a long term worker.

In January 2024 Lucia became the Partnership and Project Officer at Guinebor II Hospital in Chad. Her responsibilities will include managing relationships with international partners, foreign embassies, and local offices of INGOs or UN agencies. She will also work alongside the Chadian staff to identify training and development needs.
